We are back home again! We arrived last night and are in the process of getting our lives back in order again after 2 weeks in China.
It was a wonderful trip and we are very thankful to have had the opportunity to go! I'd love to post some pictures here, but I dropped my camera just before we came home and it won't turn on. So I've got pictures being printed and CDs being made at Meijer, but I can't load them onto my computer.
I'll post pictures and give more information when I get them...
Thanks for all your prayers while we were gone!

Fast Food Reality
I found these pictures to be a good reminder of how deceived I am about the quality of my fast food! Which one of them gets the prize for the most deceptive advertising? The Arby's Beef and Cheddar gets my vote.
Funny, even though they look so bad, I'm suddenly hungry for a double cheeseburger from the McDonalds dollar menu!

The Engines are Warming Up!
48 hours from now we will be somewhere over the Pacific Ocean! WooHoo!
All of the official documents have been copied multiple times and the stuff is going in the suitcases!

In Exactly One Week...
One week from this very moment all four of us will be somewhere in the sky headed towards Tokyo! For those of you who don't know, we leave on the 13th for a two week trip to China to visit friends of ours who live there. They have 4 boys Brant's age and younger. We are so excited to go (and a little bit anxious as well, of course). It is amazing to us how much work needs to be taken care of before an international trip! So, pray that all the details will be taken care of in the coming week and that our trip is encouraging to our friends and exciting for us!

September 15!
September 15, 2007 is a significant date to remember. It became that this afternoon.
I was gifted by some VERY thoughtful friends of mine (who obviously know me way too well) with the gift of being one of a few people who will spend the morning playing baseball at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit! Before I was thrilled just to have a chance to walk on the field (see my blog picture), but now I'll spend the morning actually playing on it (or at least trying to play on it!) My morning will include hanging out in the clubhouse and dugout as well as fielding and taking batting practice against Dave Rosema (I hope he pitches underhand!).
The scary thing is friends will be there to watch me possibly make a fool of myself (and they are ones who will use my foolishness to any advantage!). So, it is off to buy a new glove (I'm still using mine from junior high) and to the batting cages!
I'm thankful for such thoughtful and generous friends!

Significant Weight Loss
Brant lost significant weight over the past 24 hours. Besides the tooth that he worked out of his bottom jaw, he also got sheered tonight. His dream of having long hair like Dirk Nowitzki ended with a big pile of hair laying on the kitchen floor. To me he looks like at totally different kid!
